Apple TV Now Officially Available In India
Apple has officially launched Apple TV, a media streaming device in India for the price of
8,295. Apple’s India website is already updated with the news, and one
can find Apple TV under iPod section. With this launch Apple’s full
portfolio of products are now available in India.
This device is not the rumored Apple television set, but a media streamer that lets you stream and share content from your Apple devices and from iTunes to your HDTV, and it can be connected through HDMI port.
An Apple spokesperson, who confirmed the development, said “Yes, we have launched the product. It will be out in our authorized resellers in the next seven to ten days,” reports The Hindu.
This launch came forth within two months after Apple launched its iTunes store in India, selling high-definition movies, music and other iTune contents. Apart from music and videos, you can also use the Apple TV to view photos from your iPhone or iPad or those hosted on iCloud, mirror content through AirPlay and you can watch videos from sites like YouTube and Vimeo.
Right now the device faces compaction from Micromax’s Smart Stick and Akai’s Smart Box.
